Ontario Resort destinations are getting ready to celebrate Canada Day with a variety of activities and events. With Canada Day falling on a Saturday in 2006 many will be getting away on an Ontario Long weekend in Ontario resort and cottage country. If you are in the Madawaska Valley Resort area over Canada Day weekend there will be a special fly past by the Snowbirds to celebrate one of the world's leading aviation experts Janusz Zurakowski of Barry's Bay. The photo attached is monument on the main street of Barry's Bay honouring their home town hero. Zurakowski was the former test pilot of Canada's renowned Avro Arrow. Accommodation in the area can be found at Chippawa Cottage Resort. Barry's Bay is located Halfway between Ottawa and Huntsville, about 45 min. east of Ontario's famous Algonquin Park.
