Ontario's Algonquin Region Colours on Display
Fall Beauty in the Algonquin Region
The Ontario Ministry of Tourism recent fall colour report indicates that "Algonquin Park is still showing some excellent colour". "The Highway 60 corridor continues to offer some pockets of nice colour. An ideal viewing location, in Algonquin Park, is the world class visitor centre. The view from the observation deck, to the south, is always outstanding, but especially nice during the fall. Ragged Falls, just off highway 60, outside the west gate of the park, also offers an ideal viewing location" says the fall color report. The Algonquin region has many geographical features and displays the best colours at different times during the fall colour season. The 400ELEVEN website has detailed 2 fall colour routes. We have provided the Southern Algonquin Route, and the Northern Algonquin Route as recommended touring routes that identifies attractions accommodation, and driving directions.

I will be traveling through southern Ontario to Toronto Octobet 8th through the 15th. will the fall colors be through by that time ? This will be my first visit to the area and I am looking for short (an hour or less) drives to scenic areas outside of Toronto.
