The Ontario Fun Pass for Kids is great. We plan on touring some of the sites with the family this summer like Discovery Harbour and Sainte-Marie among the Hurons. We will be having relatives up from Europe and will most definitely recommend the other locations for them to see as they tour.

Is this free for the kids or has the Ontario government enter the domain as an Advertising Agency? How do they choose which are the 15 sites?
I think it is great that Ontario promotes our provincial treasures but they need to do it via the same venue and channels we all, (business) have access as well. Business cannot advertise our products through the school systems, at any price. Why can they compete with my hard earn taxed dollars supporting their selective advertising?
This is another case of Government crossing the line of not servicing the people as it appears they are servicing to re-elected their members; it is very interesting which ridings received the free promotions.
This advertising campaign in itself is brilliant marketing. If this government is truly interested in "Kids learning” perhaps this campaign, with it full details of creation could be used for high schools or universities as a case study in Ethics and Organizational Behavior, improving our true provincial treasures, our up and coming leaders!

The Ontario Travel attractions promoted in the Fun Pass are those attractions owned by the Government of Ontario. They are in many cases historical treasures that have been created for specific cultural and historical significance. One of my favorites is in Penetanguishene, Discovery Harbour where British History comes alive and reflects the history and times around the war of 1812 and the Battle between Americans and the British for the Great Lakes.
My kids did not get an Ontario Fun Pass ( no kids in the school got them ) ( no kids in the town got them ) Did the government say kids in Ontario or was it the US of A.
Sound like a nice thing to do for the kids to get out as a family.
But how do you get the pass if you live in Ontario...
