Ontario Fresh Water Recreation

Ontario Lakes

How many lakes exist in Ontario?

No one has been able to count the exact number. However, some estimates are in the 250,000 plus range, others are in the 400,000 range. Regardless, one could say Ontario is a waterfront resort destination.

Waterfront Resort Recreation

Most of  the 200 plus members on this website are properties on an Ontario lake with access to beaches either on site or nearby in the local community.  Fresh water swimming continues to be one of the number one fun activity for families traveling in Ontario during the summer. Next to swimming, fresh water fishing is an available activity for Ontario travelers, either off the dock, in a canoe, or from a boat. See  Fishing Getaways

Waterfront Rentals

Most summer resorts and resort  destinations offer a selection of water sports including  water skiing, wake boarding, tubing, wind surfing, sailing, or just old-fashioned beach combing. An Ontario tradition in the summer sees most  Ontario residents heading north into Ontario Cottagecountry and a waterfront cottage vacation rental, or cottage resort rental

For families and couples who do not own a cottage property, rental cottage accommodation properties offer up beach resorts, cottage-resorts with beaches, country inns on the water, b&b locations on the water or near a public beach.

Ontario Travel North of Toronto provides hundreds of summer getaways and packages on Ontario lakes in resort destinations .
