Ontario’s Valley Road Trips for Fall Colours

Fall Colours in Toronto’s nearby valleys

The best fall colours can be found close to the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Look for open spaces with long vistas in valleys with a road or river running through the landscape.

In Ontario there are many great valleys for a Thanksgiving fall colour road trip.  The author’s favourite close to Toronto valleys are listed in proximity to Toronto order below and are laid out in such a way as to direct travellers back towards the GTA.

Alliston Nottawasaga Valley-Hockley Valley-Alton-Caledon

The closest to Toronto area starts in Simcoe County. This area can be reached by heading north to Highway 89 via Highway 400 and proceeding west to Dufferin County and Airport Road through Alliston.  Then drive back south to the GTA through the villages Hockley, and Caledon.  Road trip guide and directions to Nottawasaga Valley-Caledon -Hockley Valley
