Mosport International Raceway kicks off its season with the sights and sounds of thundering GT and Touring cars on the Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend, May 20-22.
The action-packed weekend features the World Challenge Series GT, GTS and Touring doubleheader, the SCCA Trans-Am Series, the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship and the classic Sundown Grand Prix.
Off-track fans can enjoy the annual Victoria Day fireworks which will light up the sky. Camping is a popular part of the Mosport experience and there will also be access to the paddock with driver autograph sessions and meet and greets. Who knew, Queen Victoria was responsible for Ottawa being designated Canada’s Capital. Queen Victoria (1819-1901) Queen Victoria officially chose Ottawa as Canada's capital in 1857. Nearly forty years later, a monument to Queen Victoria, intended as part of a lavish celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the sixtieth year of her reign, was proposed for the Hill.
