Take a tour of this quaint little town in Renfrew County's Madawaska Valley part of the Ottawa Valley.... Barry's Bay is a crossroads of Polish and Irish cultures.   A major town on Highway 60...At the 3-way stop where Highway 62 ends at Highway 60.   Bancroft via County Road 62 & Provincial Highway 62 is to the south.   Algonquin Park is to the west and north east and the towns of Wilno, and Combermere, are nearby.  Highway 60 is reached from Ottawa via Renfrew or Pembroke from the east or Huntsville to the west.

Outdoor Experiences

Barry's Bay is steeped in outdoor recreation experience with hiking trails, water trails and golf courses. The Madawaska River flows from the Algonquin area south east to meet the Ottawa River creating many large lakes including Kamaniskeg Lake with beaches right in Barry's Bay.

Culture and History

Steeped in logging and mining the Madawaska Valley reflects early Canadian culture. Vistors can still see the active Murray Bros. Mill and lumber yard along Highway 60 near the town of Barry's Bay The nearby town of Wilno exhibits Polish Kasube Culture and Canada's ethinic diversity. Early Irish and Polish settlers maintain a mixed cultural co-operation in this unique Ottawa Valley Community.
