The Villa beach

Our year-round retreat is located on the waterfront of Farlain Lake near Penetanguishene and midland, ON. From the cottage it takes only a few short steps to the sandy beach and into the crystal clear lake. The temperature of the water is perfect for a dip or for lounging on the floats that are provided. The shallow beach is ideal for families with children as they can be supervised from shore, as well as from the upper level deck that overlooks the lake front.

The cottage has brand new furniture (indoor and outdoor), Serta Perfect-Sleeper mattresses, all new kitchen appliances, and new sporting equipment. The view from the deck over the lake is stunning, especially in the quiet morning hours when you want to enjoy the sunrise. From early morning to late afternoon the sun is shining on the beach area as well the deck, but oak and birch trees can provide some welcome shade.

Guests are welcome to bring their jet skis or boats, which they can lower into the lake on a nearby ramp! Awenda Provincial Park is nearby, and guests can hike and bike on the trails within, or swim in Georgian Bay from the beaches within the park. Whip-poor-will Lodge

Whip-poor-will Lodge is situated on its own private, Dollars Lake island which is part of Northern Ontario's Pickerel River. All of our cottages offer outstanding views overlooking the water and are complete with three piece baths, carpeting, electric heat and outside decks. Delicious home-cooked meals are served to you in the main lodge or our staff will prepare a packed or shore lunch if you wish to spend the day on the water.

For the avid angler, our water is plentiful with pike, walleye, small and largemouth bass, pan fish and crappie. There is plenty of docking and a good launch if you wish to bring your own boat.

Not in the mood to fish? Try one of our other activities that Whip-poor-will offers. There is hiking and mountain biking trails, canoe trips, swimming, paddle boating, kayaks, and water trampoline or just plain relaxation.
