Doors Open Ontario Free Attractions & Events North of Toronto

Doors Open Ontario continues during October of  2011 and marks 10 years of this valuable contribution to Ontario heritage. Visitors will have FREE ADMISSION to explore heritage buildings, natural spaces, architectural showpieces and community landmarks at community events across the province. Visitors can combine an Ontario overnight October getaway packages  in Ontario's Historical Resort Destinations.

  Highland East includes the celebration of  the heritage of Cardiff, Highland Grove, Wilberforce, Tory Hill and Gooderham!  This publishers must see pick is the 1922 Red Cross Outpost Nursing service in Ontario which began at this site. The service spread rapidly and continued for four decades, providing medical aid for numerous rural areas. This public health service program aided in the development of government-supported health care in Canada.
