Farmers' markets or roadside stands can be a fun part a day road trip, staycation or weekend getaway. Many markets are open all year, however the start of the season in the spring and harvest season in the fall provide some of the best selections of fresh produce.Fall road trips and colours explode with farm fresh displays. As you proceed into the Holland Marsh area on Highway 400, you know you are in fresh produce country. Many of the communities north of Toronto enjoy a rural lifestyle where fresh goods and services are home grown or grown on the family owned farm. You can be assured of fresh tasty food, farm fresh produce, beef, pork and lamb. Ontario's small sized farms have fresh grown produce in vacation and cottage country from southern to northern Ontario.
