We’re warned not to look directly at a total solar eclipse with appropriate protective glasses, but the solar eclipse is an extraordinary event that deserves to be celebrated, not feared. There are opportunities to safely – and memorably – embrace this awe-inspiring celestial phenomenon.

Cannabis-Friendly Things To Do On 4-20 https://todoontario.com/cannabis-friendly-things-to-do-on-4-20-in-ontario/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cannabis-friendly-things-to-do-on-4-20-in-ontario Sun, 17 Mar 2024 14:12:51 +0000 https://todoontario.com/?p=4270 Are you looking to partake in safe and fun cannabis events and activities this year? Here are a few cannabis-friendly things to do on 4-20.

The post Cannabis-Friendly Things To Do On 4-20 first appeared on ToDoOntario.

*The following article is intended for readers 19+ years of age.*

According to weed lore, a group of students who attended San Rafael High School coined the term “420” during the 1970s.

The phrase “420” comes from “420 Louis”. This was a code for the group, who called themselves ‘The Waldo’s’, to meet by the school’s statue of Louis Pasteur. Since then, the number and the date have become synonymous with cannabis.

ToDoOntario - cannabis leaf in a hand

The Ontario cannabis industry is thriving more than ever. Ontario is the best place for cannabis events, including your 4-20 celebration.

You’re guaranteed to have a high time in Ontario on April 20th with the following cannabis activities. Here are some of the best cannabis-oriented things to do in Ontario.

Ontario Cannabis Laws

Canada’s weed laws resemble their cigarette and vape laws. As such, if you’re over the age of 19, you may use cannabis in Ontario.

As a rule of thumb, you’re allowed to smoke anywhere cigarettes are allowed. That means you’re allowed to walk down the sidewalk smoking a spliff.

Along with knowing general Ontario travel information, it’s also important to know how much weed you’re able to legally carry. In Ontario, you may have up to one ounce on you in public.

Now, let’s move on to the fun part.

April 20 in Ontario To Do List:

CBD Spa Treatments in Muskoka

ToDoOntario - JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Hydrospa pedicure chairs

Head no further to the luxurious JW Marriott The Rosseau Resort Muskoka’s Hydrospa. Here you can fully relax and benefit from the following CBD treatments.

Walking on a Cloud CBD Leg/Foot Treatment

This treatment focuses on hard worked legs/feet and will leave you walking on a cloud. Perfect after a long day of everyday life. The treatment will start with a gentle scrub that is infused with CBD organic oils. The legs and feet will then be painted with a rich clay-based CBD mask wrapped in a hot towel. Enjoy a relaxing 5-minute neck and shoulder massage with a CBD medium. Culminate the experience with a lower leg and foot massage designed to soothe distressed muscles and feet with a cooling, tingling sensation. This HEMP CBD massage treatment will alleviate leg and foot pain, relieve soreness, stress as well as reduce joint swelling.

Gett’n Groovy CBD Pedicure

Dip your toes into a gentle detoxifying warm, bubble bath foot soak, infused with Hemp CBD. Experience the feeling of relief to areas of soreness and discomfort. This instantly soothes with a unique tingling sensation. Your soles will be gentle exfoliated with natural sugar infused CBD organic oil leaving your feet soft and reenergized. Next, the feet are painted in a rich clay-based mask then wrapped in paraffin wax that will deeply nourish while drawing out impurities. Relax with a lower leg and foot massage that is designed to destress tired muscles and feet with a cooling, tingling sensation. This Hemp CBD is also present in this massage medium that will relieve soreness, stress, and discomfort.

4-20 Rentals vs. Cannabis Events

ToDoOntario - Niagara Falls 420 Expo 2024

Niagara Falls 420 Expo is a celebration of all things cannabis & community. This year’s event is slated to take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024. The event will feature 20,000 square feet of all things cannabis, including; exhibitors, educational seminars, guest speakers, manufacturers, and more. North America’s largest celebration of all things cannabis. Community. Culture.

Cannabis Comedy Festival, Toronto

ToDoOntario - Cannabis Comedy Festival

The Cannabis Comedy Festival is Toronto’s only Legal Cannabis Consumption Comedy Show. Smoking is allowed inside the venue, and the ticket includes a Cannabis study where you can consume Free Cannabis during the show. Dates: Select dates March through April, 2024.

Here are a few more events happening in Ontario in and around April 20 to help you celebrate.

Smokus Pocus 4-20 Magic Show @ Sens House, Ottawa.
Experience a higher kind of magic at Canada’s Dopest Night Out.

420 Paint & Sip, Thornhill.
420 Paint & Sip (One Love Edition) for a chill evening of creativity, good vibes, and relaxation.

Enjoy Cannabis Activities at High Park

To truly experience Ontario’s cannabis culture, go to High Park on the 20th of April. On any given day of the year, High Park is a central hub for cannabis smokers. On 4-20, though, the place smokes up like a chimney.

As part of the great outdoors, people enjoy going for high hikes and stoned strolls here. There’s nothing quite like communing with nature while you’re smoking a joint or enjoying some edibles safely and responsibly.

Celebrate April 20th With the Ontario Cannabis Industry

ToDoOntario - couple with a bong

1 in 4 Canadians smoked pot at least once in 2020. Visiting Ontario in the future for 4-20 means you’ll get to enjoy the same cannabis activities Canadians do.

Only 9% of people in other countries reported similar levels of cannabis use to Canadians. Sure, Canada has the Ontario cannabis industry, but there’s so much more fun to be had there. There are cannabis events year-round when it’s safe to throw/attend them, not just on April 20th.

Go up in smoke with a smile—check out our summer getaway deals. You’ll definitely find a time and place to smoke at some point while you’re there.

PRESS RELEASE
February 28, 2024 – Orillia & Lake Country, ON

Tap Into Maple hits the sweet spot in Orillia & Lake Country

ToDoOntario - Tap into Maple, maple producer

It’s that sweet time of year again, as Orillia & Lake Country presents the ever-popular Tap into Maple experience. Running March 1 to April 7, the program is an opportunity to visit the region’s maple syrup producers, enjoy special maple-themed experiences, and indulge in local maple-inspired cuisine.

This year’s Tap into Maple program truly showcases the deep roots of maple in our region with 18 participating locations including 8 maple syrup producers offering an array of sugar bush experiences. Take a self-guided tour through lesser-traveled routes to working sugar shacks that offer a firsthand view of the maple syrup process, from harvesting and boiling to enjoying. Additionally, experience the many ways maple is celebrated by shopping for maple products, enjoying a maple infused craft brew or dining out on maple featured menus.

Warmer temperatures have meant an earlier start to Orillia & Lake Country’s popular maple season. The sap has been flowing through the region’s sugar bushes to the sound of rushing tap lines and dripping buckets as producers start some of their earliest seasons on record. This year’s Tap into Maple producers include Elsie’s Creek Farm, The Farmgate, Hewitt’s Maple Syrup and Farm Market, Hutchinson’s Maple Syrup, Maple Grove Syrup, Shaw’s Maple Syrup, Sugar Sweet Farm, and Windlee Farm Maple Syrup. Walk through a tap lined sugar bush, see the different processes from small scale sugar shacks to larger facilities, meet the producers who work year-round to ensure the best product, and pick up the freshest maple syrup of the season. Be sure to check TapIntoMaple.com for visiting hours at each site.

Be sure to stop at Chelsea Chocolates in Oro-Medonte, Copperpot Nuts in Severn, and DWN Craft Chocolatier and Susie Q Fudge & Gifts in Orillia for even more maple inspired products. All of these shops have developed partnerships with local maple syrup producers to infuse their sweet treats – including maple chocolate bars, maple-infused nuts, and maple fudge. On Saturday mornings the Orillia Farmers’ Market also welcomes vendors and producers celebrating all things maple this season. In Rama First Nation, Rama Cannabis offers maple infused items, showcasing the connections of both cannabis and the maple tree (ininaatig) to Anishinaabe culture.

Orillia & Lake Country’s culinary scene is also ready to celebrate all things maple. Off-Eleven Pizza + Eats, by the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport is offering two dishes featuring Hutchinson’s Maple Syrup. G&O Bistro at Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn will be offering a three-course specialty dinner menu highlighting maple and Canadiana flavours. Three of Casino Rama Resort’s restaurants will have maple-infused treats: maple snacks at Cedar Express, breakfast at The Weirs, and dinner and maple infused cocktails at Simcoe Yard House. At Lagoon City Pier One Resort, maple syrup from The Farmgate, made just down the road, makes it onto their delicious pepper maple glazed pork loin dinner. Finally, top off the end of a self-guided tour through the region with a maple-infused craft brew at Quayle’s Brewery along with great food and on-site activities for the whole family.

Mark your calendars for two family fun events to cap off the Tap into Maple experience. On March 23rd and 24th the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre hosts the 34th Annual Sweetwater Harvest Festival with loads of family fun activities, delicious food and educational opportunities alongside their partner site, Saint-Marie Among the Hurons. At the grand finale of Tap into Maple, the Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association presents Maple Weekend on April 6th and 7th. Many Tap into Maple producers will offer extra events, activities, and treats on site-during the weekend to kick-off the spring sales of maple products in our area.

Tap into Maple has something for everyone. Check out each location for details about hours of operation and booking ahead. Visit TapIntoMaple.com for more information on all of the participating producers, businesses and activities.
