| Wherever one travels in the Algonquin region water, beaches, beavers, moose, waterfowl can be viewed from the various roads or as most Algonquin visitors agree, best viewed by canoe. Wildlife is always nearby. Winter and early spring provide their own special wildlife viewing opportunities. Beaches in Algonquin Park vary with the watersheds. There are many beach areas throughout the Madawaska River watershed that starts in Algonquin Park and runs through to the Ottawa Valley and the Ottawa River.
