Midland to Awenda Provincial Park

Travel back to the junction of Highway 12 and Highway 93, Turn right on Highway 93 and proceed approxiamtley 6 km north to the town of Penetaguishene. As you drive into Penetanquishene notice the road changes to Main Street and Highway 93 ends. Watch for directional signs for Robert Street where you will turn left. Travel for approximatly 2 km until you see the sign for Lafontaine Road, which is the same as Rue Fountaine Est. Take Rue Fountaine Est to Concession 16 approximatley 4k, watch for the signs for Awenda Provincial Park. Awenda features some of the most beautiful and natural beaches along the Georgian Bay coasts and shorelines. A hike is required to get the the best beach, however it is worth the trip.

Return to Old Fort Road Trip to Midland

Midland to Penetanguishene and Discovery Harbour

Travel back to the junction of Highway 12 and Highway 93, Turn right on Highway 93 and proceed approximately 6 km north to the town of Penetaguishene. As you drive into Penetanquishene notice the road changes to Main Street and Highway 93 ends. Continue driving into Penetanguishene to the waterfront area. Keep to your right and watch for signs directing you to Discovery Harbour. As you proceed toward Discovery Harbour watch for the Ecological Garden (Parc Ecologique) on your left, on the edge of Georgian Bay. This garden is made up of native Canadian plants and species. A nice place for an after dinner walk before the Kings Wharf Theatre or a cocktail at Captain Roberts Table watching pre-show entertainment. Enjoy spectacular views of Penetanguishene Harbour and Georgian Bay.
