We are excited to have the P.I.N.E. Project offer our fifth annual March Break Nature Retreat! This retreat will offer you a chance to rejuvenate in nature’s beauty, deepening your connection to, and understanding of, the natural world. We will be expanding our awareness & knowledge, while exploring some of the many uses of nature’s gifts. Learn new skills to bring back to the classroom or integrate into your life with friends, family, or at work. Families are welcome to attend and learn new ways to connect in the outdoors as a family.

A Children & Youth (6 – 16yrs) program will run simultaneously with the adult program.

Activities Include:   Studying Wildlife through the “Eye of a Tracker”.  Snowshoeing and Camp Fires.  Basket and Container Making with Natural Materials.  Wilderness Awareness Games/Activities.  Story Telling.  Wilderness Crafts with Natural Materials.  Intro to Mentoring with Nature’s Cycles (Coyote Mentoring).  Good Food & Good Fun.  And Much Much More.  

Cost: $320 per adult

March Break Getaways @ Blue Mountain Chalets - Villa Rossa

Three new chalets located at the base of Blue Mountain. Blue Mountain Chalets–Villa Rossa is available for rent all year round. Comfortable and spacious, with an open-concept living area, each 7 bedroom chalet sleeps 17 people. You can accommodate up to 50 people all together in 3 chalets under one roof. MacLaren Family Getaways (for all ages)

Family Sunday Workshops at the MacLarenArtCentre Families can enjoy an afternoon exploring art while they create wonderful works to enjoy at home. Regional artists lead the workshops, and activities suit all ages and levels of experience.

Admission $5 per child. Family Membership holders free Sundays: 1:30 - 3:00 pm, September to June (No class April 4). Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, with sign-up at the Front Desk beginning at 12:00pm

The MacLarenArtCentre is Simcoe County’s regional public art gallery with a year-round programme of contemporary local, regional, national and international exhibitions. Located in downtown Barrie close to the waterfront, the MacLaren is housed in a beautiful, award-winning building that combines a renovated 1917 Carnegie library and a contemporary addition. Join us at the MacLaren Art Centre for an engaging week of art making, the perfect way to keep the kids busy during March Break! Students will work with a variety of media including painting, printmaking and sculpture. Participants will engage in a guided tour of exhibitions and be encouraged to discuss what they see as inspiration for their own art making. Register for the week or choose your dates.
