Annual Essa Riverbank Salmon Derby

Proceeds from the Derbies have allowed the members to do many projects, including running water at two Fish Cleaning Stations, the planting of thousands of trees to help stop riverbank erosion, portable washrooms at two parks, the cleanup of the river banks, installation of signs was erected at the Nottawasaga Fishing Park for families to picnic at and for anglers to keep dry under.

A catch & release perch fishing tournament.  Enjoy fishing along with the beautiful fall weather and the spectacular fall colours of Kempenfelt Bay.  Put on by the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia, the event is anticipated to be the largest of its kind on Lake Simcoe.  An estimated prize pool in excess of $50,000 is expected to attract more than 5000 anglers over the 10-day period. Grand Prizes and 100-tagged cash prize fish.  Each tagged fish is sponsored by a business – when you bring us the live-tagged fish – you win the corresponding prize for that tag
