LocationHaliburton has many names and places. Not to get confused with the Village of Haliburton, or Haliburton Highlands, or Minden. Minden is located 45 minutes north of Lindsay on Highway #35, and is the county seat for the municipalities of Haliburton County. Haliburton is also accessible via Highway 11 North to Highway 118 East. The description from the Haliburton Chamber of Commerce, describes an area as follows, "The Haliburton Highlands - A Natural Work of Art", With its many outdoor pursuits as well as a strong arts community and a land of hundreds of lakes and hectares of forests, Haliburton County is in the heart of what's known as cottage country, a four season recreational resort destination. The county also includes the Southern most part of Algonquin Park to the northeast, Dorset and Oxtonque Lake to the North West.
