 Simcoe Day is the Civic
Holiday in Canada. The intent of the Civic Holiday is to "not work" and have fun. So please don't work on the Civic Holiday! In
Canada Civic Holiday is in most cases the first Monday of August and was originally a "Toronto only" holiday to celebrate Simcoe
Day, in honour of the first Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada. It might be appropriate to visit Lake Simcoe
north of Toronto on this holiday weekend.

16, 2009. Ontario's new holiday allows Ontario residents to explore Winter in Ontario. This vacation holiday will
provide a long weekend opportunity in the peak of Ontario's winter sports and outdoor recreation season. Opportunities to get out and experience
an extra day at a winter carnival or winter outdoor sports such as skiing,
snowmobiling, snowshoeing or snowtubing
