    The Simcoe County Museum offers a wide range of March Break, Summer and Winter day camps for children between the ages of 6 and 12
  • Maclaren Art Centre Art Classes During March Break
    March 15– March 19, 2010 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
    Join us at the MacLarenArtCentre for an engaging week of art making, the perfect way to keep the kids busy during March Break! Students will work with a variety of media including painting, printmaking and sculpture. Participants will engage in a guided tour of exhibitions and be encouraged to discuss what they see as inspiration for their own art making. Register for the week or choose your dates.   • Ski Snow Valley
    March 15 – 18, 2010
    Ages: 3 to 15 Years
    Half Day Ski or Snowboard sessions.
    Lesson Times: Lessons from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

    Adventure Camp
    Available daily during March Break March 15 – 19, 2010

    For the intermediate to advance Skiers (age 6-16) and Snowboarders (age 8-16). Geared toward the intermediate to advanced skier/boarder who is looking to explore the mountain and experience the terrain parks. Experience is expected and a minimum of 2 participantsis required to run each session.
    Lesson Times ~ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
    Lift ticket and rentals are not included and participants will not be supervised during lunch.

    March 15-19, 2010
    Minden Hills Cultural Centre has it all for kids this March Break. Join ½ day programs, full day programs or get involved for the whole week. Kids will explore art, the environment, literature and heritage with local professionals at our lovely interactive complex which includes the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, Minden Hills Museum and R.D. Lawrence Place. There's something in store for the Culture Vulture in every kid!
  • The Art Hive
    March 15 – 19, 2010
    Join us for a day of drawing, working with clay, making a necklace or similar craft during the March break.
  • Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve
    March Break Day Camp at Haliburton Forest
    Participating youths will join our staff for 3 days of adventure during March Break. This day camp will provide youths aged 10 - 14 with a very active and adventurous time. Activities for the 3 days will include: X-country skiing, snowshoeing, winter survival activities such as shelter building, orienteering as well as visits to the Wolf Centre and dog kennels. Participants are asked to bring lunch for each day.
    Date: March 16 -18 ( Tuesday to Thursday ) - Time: 9 am to 4 pm daily

Kingston Area:

  • Fort Henry, Kingston:
    March 15 – 19, 2010
    Check out Fort Henry’s special March Break programming “Day as a Soldier”, a hands-on program that teaches kids about living life as a solider in 1867. Activities include doing inspections, letter writing, marching drills, and a special ghost hunt.

Midland Ontario:

    Your child will have the opportunity to experience cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, learn how maple syrup is produced, cook bannock over an open fire, experience a live hawk show, live reptile & amphibian show and swan & chickadee feedings.

North Bay Area:

    March Break camps offer kids the opportunity to learn basic to advanced techniques for downhill skiing, snowboarding and snowblading.

    Join us for a week of hands-on fun! Check out the amazing variety of artworks on view in the galleries and enjoy engaging activities. Try your hand at painting, sculpting and printmaking in the studio. To top it all off, organize an exhibition to show off your masterpieces.

    Our Workshops for Kids are designed just for children from pre-schooler to teens. Choose from weekly programmed one hour activities to two and four hour workshops for groups of mixed ages. These dynamic and interactive programs are sure to get kids’ imagination soaring!

    Discover the extent to which food and the sharing of food are integral parts of culture. The Hungry Planet exhibition opens a revealing window on the human condition and provides an opportunity to reflect on the great issues that challenge our planet: nutrition, famine, drought, poverty, power, and globalization. This fascinating photographic exhibition produced by the Montreal Science Centre features the eating habits of 25 families from 21 countries around the globe

    Barnyard Break - March 1 to 7 and March 13 to 21, 2010
    The Canada Agriculture Museum launches its new spring season with Barnyard Break! Visitors will be able to participate in or watch informative demonstrations and learn about many farm animals. Also, on weekends, visitors can warm up with a wintry recipe. A favourite March Break children’s activity is suggesting names for the Museum’s calves.

    It’s March Break and we’ve got a great lineup of activities to entertain and enlighten your child throughout the week! Campers will experience the new Dinosaurs Unearthed special exhibition, make special rock-polishing projects, have fun with brain teasers and create some simple robotics.
  • Dynamic Earth
    March 15 – 17, 2010
    This three day dash has a different theme everyday! They are: space, mining & minerals and exploration. During Space Day, participants will build a simple telescope, see real meteorite samples, and learn more about our solar system while creating a (miniature) planet! Day two is Mining and Minerals Day, when participants will do some bird-seed mining, make and taste toothpaste, work with mineral paints, and then create a rock and identify its type. Day three is Exploration Day when your child will make a compass, search for fossils, learn about geologists’ tools and participate in an exciting scavenger hunt.

Thunder Bay Area:

    March 15 – 19, 2010
    Enjoy one of the largest living history attractions in North America by recreating the days of the North West Company and the Canadian fur trade. Participate in a full week of March Break day camp activities that will include snow sculptures, sleigh rides, candy making, winter birding, baking, artisan crafts and more.

Waterloo Kitchener Area:

    March 15 – 19, 2010
    Kids can experience Our Body The Universe Within: Pumping Hearts: explore their respiratory and circulatory system; Food for Thought: have a day of digestive discovery; Muscle Mania: bring your strength & energy; Brainiac: put your thinking cap on and explore the brain; Germs Germs Germs: learn about pesky germs and how to keep them away.
