Where is Muskoka?

This is difficult to answer for most new visitors or tourists. Everyone usually knows thatMuskoka is north of Toronto and accessed by Highway 400 and Highway 11. See the Muskoka Map. To the south Muskoka Borders Simcoe county and changes along the Severn River. To the south side of the Severn is mostly Simoce County, and to the North side is Muskoka. To the west, the main border is Tay Township which is also part of Simcoe County. Muskoka also touches on Georgian Bay and the 30,000 Island to the west. To the North Muskoka Borders on the Parry Sound District, and often Muskoka-Parrry Sound are referred as one destination. To the east and north east, North Muskoka includes Lake of Bays bordiner on Haliburton County and the Algonquin Park area. Muskoka has the reputation as being one of the larger areas in the province known as cottage country. Many Toronto residents consider Muskoka to be located in northern Ontario. However, by provincial standards, Muskoka is located in Southern Ontario. Muskoka is famous for the 'Muskoka Chair", and the summer Muskoka sand beaches, winter sports and deep lakes such as Lake Muskoka.
