Beat the Barrie area Gridlock on Highway 400-11 HWY
Summer heat gets even hotter if you are tied up in stop and go traffic at Highway 400 and 11. Our suggestion is to cool off with a side trip into Barrie and a quick swim at one of three downtown Barrie Beaches on Lake Simcoe. Take HWY 93 into Barrie from Highway 11 & Highway 400 and turn at Johnson Street for Johnson Beach; Off of Highway 400 take Bayfield Street towards the lake for Centennial Beach, or take Huronia Road (10th side road from Innisfil) to Minets Point Beach. Enough is enough' OPP tells distracted drivers
Drivers in May on road trips north in Ontario should be aware the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) hope to see a more “voluntary” approach to forgoing the use of hand-held electronic devices while driving. Because the OPP is not receiving the level of compliance they are looking for, they are saying “enough is enough” and starting the largest enforcement campaign in recent OPP history.
