Driving Distance: The complete circle trip starts and ends at Highway 400 and Highway 93. The road trip is approximately 35-60 km (depending on your Driving distance in and around Midland, Ontario)

Directions

Drive up highway 400 past Barrie (stay to the right as you approach the Highway 400, eleven exchange) stay on 400 to Highway 93. Driving South on Highway 400 watch for the Highway 93 exit. Proceed west toward Midland.

Watch for Fast Food stand with Elk and Buffalo Burgers, and homemade fries will be on your immediate right on 93.

Drive to the village of Hillsdale 5 Km from 93 and 400 junction— Suggested Stop at Iron Works.

Continue(approx 4 km) on 93 west to Simcoe County Road 19 also known as the Moonstone Road.

Watch for Simcoe County Forest Signs as you approach the turn, and immediately after the turn. There are access roads into the forest if you need a quick walk , or a nice fall hike to stretch your legs.

Proceed on The Moonstone Road 19 for 4 km to line 3 north, Simcoe road 58. You will make a left turn here.

On your immediate right before the turn you will see a sign for “Rural Roots”, Attic Antiques.

You will drive straight north 14 km to a set of lights at Highway 12.

When you come to the first stop sign, proceed with caution strait ahead (north) where the road changes to The Old Fort Road.

Drive for approximately 2 km and watch for the Autumn Harvest Farms sign and a very large Pumpkin Patch. You can purchase pumpkins and gourds and nicely decorated farm baskets.

When leaving the farm, turn left on the Old Fort Road on your way to Midland.

At the stop light, turn left, and get ready to make an immediate left at the signs for Sainte Marie Among the Huron’s (once called Fort Ste. Marie) and the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre home to the endangered Trumpeter Swan. Immediately across from the Wye Marsh you will see the Martyr’s Shrine. Additional locations to visit are Huron Museum Village, Ouendat Native Village, or you can take a cruise on the Miss Midland around the Islands and Inlets of Georgian Bay’s 30,000 Islands.

When you are ready to leave Midland and return to Highway 400, proceed west on Highway 12 to Highway 93, turn left at the lights.

Drive for 6 km to the village of Wye Bridge -a visit Mad Michael's Tree Art Café or Grass Roots,
Drive another 6 km and look for the Brown Egg sign and Maple Syrup and Honey.

Drive 3 km to Waverly.
Drive 4 km to your original cut off of Highway 93 and Highway 400.

Editor's Note: The above road trip to Midland is equally as nice during the spring and summer vacation season.
