Barrie, Ontario, CN – December 2008 – Since the end of June, Shell Vacations' Carriage Ridge Resort at Horseshoe Valley in Barrie, Ontario has maintained the number one ranked position on TripAdvisor, based on consumer comments. The resort is ranked #1 out of 18 Barrie area hotels and resorts with a 4.5 rating. Neighboring Carriage Hills Resort, also developed by Shell Vacations, is listed in the #3 position with a 4.0 rating.

Developed as a vacation ownership property by Northbrook, Illinois-based Shell Vacations LLC, the $24 million Carriage Ridge Resort was completed in December 2004 and features 78 two-bedroom units accommodating eight guests. The resort's sister property, Carriage Hills Resort, was completed in 2002 with 172-two-bedrooom units. When combined, the two resorts total over 500 individual units.
