Join the Ontario Heritage Trust at the Great Hall, Champlain College, Trent University, to launch the province’s celebrations for Heritage Week 2011 which runs from February 21 to 25.

Heritage Week offers a unique opportunity for Ontarians to celebrate our rich history and to recognize the important work of heritage organizations and volunteers across the province. Many communities will celebrate with their own special events and activities, including exhibits, lectures, workshops, informal gatherings and tours.

The launch event in Peterborough will feature presentations, performances and a Heritage Expo showcasing local organizations and school groups. Highlights will include the keynote address by Professor Thomas H.B. Symons, Chairman of the Ontario Heritage Trust, and a special presentation titled “Ontario’s Hidden Heritage” by Ron Brown, celebrated author, geographer and travel writer.

The Ontario Heritage Trust is an agency of the Government of Ontario, dedicated to identifying, preserving, protecting and promoting Ontario’s heritage.
