MARCH IS A FUN MONTH WITH GEORGIAN BAY TOURISM

Midland, Georgian Bay, Ontario……………March 2006. Georgian Bay area hotels and attractions in Midland have a number of fun and exciting events and getaway packages during the month of March. Downhill ski packages start at $111.00 per person double including accommodation at the Best Western Highlands Inn, lift ticket at Mount St.Louis, breakfast and dinner.

Ice fishing packages start at $75.00 per person double mid week at the Midland Comfort Inn including a heated Ice hut on Georgian Bay.

MARCH AND MARCH BREAK GETAWAY PACKAGES & EVENTS

The Family March Break packages for outdoor x-country ski enthusiast are available starting at $129.99 per night at the Midland Comfort Inn and include overnight accommodation, a continental breakfast, cross-country skiing including skis poles and boots and day pass to the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre. March Break snowshoeing packages are also available.

The Best Western Highland Inn has a fun family package that includes overnight accommodation, breakfast and dinner, family treasure hunt at the hotel, arts & crafts with an instructor and prizes. Board games and puzzles will be available for use in the Garden Atrium allowing adults and kids to play together. A special kids menu is available. "The Office" lounge will be a place where adults can enjoy a cocktail and kids can enjoy a special fancy soda, shake or even "magic milk". Rates start at $211 per family of 4 per night.

HURONIA MUSEUM WORKSHOPS

--Sat. and Sun. March 4, 5 to learn how to work with porcupine quills and create a small quill work sample.
-- Sat. and Sun. March 11, 12 we have a work shop on making an Ojibwa style moccasins.
--Sat. and Sun March 25, 26 we have a session on Native traditional cooking.

All programs start at 10 a.m. and go through to 4 p.m. and all classes are held at the Georgian Bay Native Friendship Centre on Younge St. East in Midland. For more information contact (705) 526-2844

Local entertainer from Treehouse T. V. Douglas John will be performing Western Highland Inn and Conference Centre on Sunday March 12 th at 1:00 pm. (705) 526-2844.
