| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Travel Ontario For The Perfect Maple Leaf and Win Your Own Canadian Sugar Maple TreeBarrie, Ontario ........September 23, 2007 -- With the changing maple leaves many road trippers and fall foliage enthusiasts will be looking for the perfect leaf to press and keep as a souvenir of their 2007 autumn travel. Ontario Travel North of Toronto and Maple Leaves Forever have launched a fall contest seeking the perfect maple leaves photograph. Participants need to submit their favorite photo depicting the best maple leaves (or leaf) to win one of 10 maple trees. Maple Leaves Forever is dedicated to restoring the Maple Tree to the Canadian landscape, especially in Ontario. There has been a reduction in the number of Maple Trees on the landscape in the last 20 years as maples planted 100 years ago age and unfortunately are not replaced. The Maple Leaves Forever website provides a significant educational component with history and varieties of Maple Trees in Canada. The Foundation was set up in 2000 and purchased a maple woodlot in Dufferin County to produce maple trees for distribution. More than 40,000 maple trees have been distributed to landowners. Maple Leaves Forever has teamed up with the 400Eleven website promoting fall color tours north of Toronto to help create a deeper understanding of the contribution of the maple tree to the fall color experience. 400Eleven has developed more than 20 suggested fall color road trips and routes throughout Ontario. Visitors to the 400Eleven website can enter the contest by submitting their photos in a jpeg format. The winners will be announced Nov. 1, 2007. Fall Colour Photo Contest information can be viewed at http://www.400eleven.com/contest.php Editor's Notes: |
