ONTARIO 400ELEVEN TRAVEL NORTH OF TORONTO SUPPORTS
TOURISM WEEK IN CANADA
Go north in Ontario during Tourism week and support Canada's Tourism
Industry
BARRIE, ONTARIO. June 4, 2007 Tourism Week in Canada June
4-10, 2007, celebrates a $67-billion industry and tells Canadians and
their governments that tourism matters to our country's economic and social
well-being.
Coordinated by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada
around the theme "Tourism, Canada's Passport to Prosperity,"
Tourism Week provides a focal point for activities and events planned
across the country by businesses, provincial, territorial and regional
tourism industry associations, destination marketing organizations and
others.
Tourism keeps 1.6 million Canadians working, supports economic
and community development, and generates over $18 billion in tax revenues
for all levels of government-money that pays for a range of important
programs like health care and education. 400Eleven.com
is dedicated to the promotion and marketing of travel for destinations
north of Toronto
Ron Taylor, Publisher of the Ontario Travel North of Toronto
website (www.400eleven.com) said,
“Tourism demand is often generated by the events and activities
taking place in the many resort destinations north of Toronto. We try
to balance the demand generators driving tourism traffic north with a
balance of events and festivals in association with our accommodation
and attraction members.” Taylor adds, “building accommodation
occupancy, and increasing local attraction visits, helps generate additional
dollars for local communities.”
Now in its fourth year, 400ELEVEN has more than 150 members
combined in the accommodations, attractions, transportation, and real
estate sectors. 400ELEVEN ONLY accepts members, events and festivals from
businesses and tourism operations north of Toronto. The objective is to
