Wye Marsh Maple Syrup Festival "Sweetwater Harvest" Features Children's Cartoonist and Illustrator Bob Kain

Midland Ontario .......March 20, 2007. The sugar shack is heating up and the Sweetwater will be flowing at Ontario's Wye Marsh this Saturday and Sunday March 24th, and 25th. Visitors will enjoy three different maple syrup production methods including, First Nations, Pioneer & Modern maple syrup demonstrations. Enjoy the many activities and exhibits along our trails. There are also lots of other maple syrup traditions to keep you entertained, including the cheerful sound of contemporary and traditional Canadian folk music, cooking bannock over an open fire, vendors, children's crafts, horse–drawn wagon rides and much more. Admission price is $5.00.

Children from across the country will recognize freelance cartoonist and illustrator Bob Kain's work from the pages of Chirp Magazine. Chirp Magazine is a publication developed for children under six and Chirp's has made many friends: Tweet, Squawk, Grandma, Grandpa, and Sparky. Bob will be available for children of all ages to try their hand at drawing under Bob's watchful eye and guidance.

Parents can make the Sweetwater Harvest a full day event with all of the indoors and outdoors activities available to keep the kids busy starting with a wagon ride from the parking area to the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre
