A schedule of events with information on workshop themes is available on our website (www.wyemarsh.com) and at the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre.

Native Species Planting

Midland, ON – Discover the wonders of Wye Marsh’s upland forest while helping to replenish the native plant source of this important ecosystem. For the last three years Wye Marsh has been controlling Glossy Buckthorn, an exotic invasive shrub introduced from Europe. To balance the impact of this invasive species on the native wildlife and to support our control methods, we will be planting a variety of native plants that are naturally found in this forest system. Participants will be educated on the importance of native wildlife and the ecological problems associated with introducing exotic species into natural areas.
Date: Saturday September 17th
Time: 2 – 4pm
Cost: General Admission - Pre-registration is required!
What to Bring: A gardening spade or small shovel and appropriate clothing, including protective footwear and gloves.
