Thanksgiving weekend
is the beginning of a number of ski
swaps and snowboard swaps in Ontario. All Ontario skiing and snowboarding
enthusiasts will be checking their gear before heading to the 2006 Toronto
Ski and Snowboard show the weekend of October 12.
National Ski &
Snowboard Week was established more than 20 years ago as a celebration
of Canada's favourite season for millions of Canadians.. Every year in
mid-January people of all ages are encouraged to head to their local ski
areas.
The Highway 400 & Highway 11 corridor is the major access route into
Ontario's snowboarding country. An array of Ontario ski vacations awaits
the most avid snowboarder or the novice. For the first time snowboader
wanting lessons the excitement off a Winter getaway can be as close as
Hockley Valley Resort
in Orangeville, just a short drive from Toronto, or a getaway to "Barrie's
Snow Belt" and the hills of Horseshoe
Resort near Barrie, Mount St. Louis / Moonstone Ski
Resort in Oro-Medonte or Snow Valley Resort,
just minutes from Barrie. For the more adventurous the drive to Rock Ridge
Winter Park in Haliburton or Radcliffe Hills in Barry's Bay will delight
with adventure.
Ski clubs such as the High Park Ski Club in Toronto, Ontario offer special
packages throughout the province, and provide transportation for the drive
north into Ontario's Snowboard Country.
Whatever the skill level, there's a getaway snowboard package for every
family member in Ontario's Winter Wonderland.
Grade 5 Snow Pass
The Grade 5 Snow Pass IS BACK and Better than Ever! The Grade 5 Snow Pass
provides kids in Grade 5 (or born in 1996) with up to three free lift
passes at each participating ski area in the province or region where
they live. In Eastern Canada, that's 101 ski areas, in Western Canada,
that's 47 ski areas.
