Springwater Provincial Park
Springwater Provincial Park provides insight into the growth of Ontario forests with the re-planting of red and white pines, and offers a wildlife compound for viewing of many of Ontario’s native species such as the wolf, coyote, bear, owls, hawks, wild turkeys, deer, beaver, raccoons and more. This is a good spot to view Canada's Black Bear. The park charges per car, and has extensive picnic facilities with natural history trails and signage throughout the park. The park is open year round, and provides playground areas for the kids. There is an excellent interpretative trail for children. Easily accessible proceeding on Highway 400 to the Bayfield (Highway 27 cut off) to Highway 26 West. Turn left at the junction of Highway 26, and Highway 27. Proceed about 5 minutes west and look for the sign. More information on Springwater Provincial Park The Provincial Parks in Ontario are also providing winter ski and snow
reports for 17
Ontario Provincial parks open in the winter. Most of the parks offer
cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Barrie accommodation
is available nearby for visitors who will want to go back to Springwater
Park. |
