The two person team that runs 400eleven.com recently took their own road trip to Muskoka for a little workation.
What is a workation? It is a getaway that is part work and part play, or course!
Where better to be inspired to promote tourism than in beautiful, natural cottage countries of Ontario, and in this case, a world famous destination.
On a sunny Monday afternoon we headed to village of Minett (located near Port Carling) to the JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa for a two night getaway.
The grand resort resort is build atop a hill overlooking the stunning Lake Rosseau. It is about a two and half hour drive from Toronto.

The week day getaway was a perfect balance of work, relaxation, good food, good sleep, good views that easily provided a casual comfortable atmosphere to focus and get a lot of work done. It had been a year or so since our last visit and it was great to see the new lobby redesign being officially revealed in just a couple of weeks. It was being completed during our stay and looks amazing so far. Rumour has it the lounge will soon have a pool table! When it came to work, the wifi worked like a dream throughout the resort, allowing us the opportunity to move around and still check out the activities the resort offers its guests.
The resort includes a large mix of activities for all types. There is a great walking trail that surrounds the resort, a beautifully maintained waterfront + docks and water toys, which includes a new HUGE inflated play structure for kids. Kids can also still enjoy land toys like the zip line and treetop trekking while parents still have access to a top notch golf course next door and a full service spa onsite. Even though we were there working, we did take note of their continuing commitment to keeping the recreation part in r&r-ing in Muskoka.
We captured some great images during our stay and are posting them here in the blog to share.
