Within an hour and a half to two hours of the city of Toronto, ski and snowboard seekers can certainly make a ski day trip or overnight weekend getaway a reality.

Whether you come from the city or from somewhere else in Ontario, downhill skiing and snowboarding is a fun way to enjoy winter and we want to help you get out and about to support and enjoy these activities. Not only are they good for you physically and mentally but they are what keeps you entertained until spring and summer. We feel winter should be celebrated, but understand it takes some effort for some, and that’s ok. We think you should own that too and still enjoy hillside warm fires, dining with friends and family, live entertainment, good books, arts and culture, and in the meantime, we might entice you to skiing! 😉 All the resorts below have awesome apres-ski and supportive ‘off the hill’ activities that are equally fun to those on the hill, we won’t argue there.

With a little more of a drive you, you can find a few more ski hills, such as Antoine Mountain in Mattawa, which is about a one hour flight  or a four and half drive drive from Toronto. The extra travel time is rewarded with true northern Ontario rugged natural beauty and gorgeous winter wonderland scenes.

If the hills are not your thing, visit our Snow Report page for information on cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
