The Algonquin Cottage Outpost and Algonquin Island retreat  are both  located on beautiful Kawawaymog (Round) Lake at the northwest corner of Algonquin Park.   The Algonquin Island Retreat is located 1km  in the middle of the lake  and a short paddle from Algonquin Park access # 1. With 360-degree water views and two decks, the cabin is fantastic for artisans or couples looking for a quiet getaway in  the wilderness.

The Algonquin Cottage Outpost is located on the west shore of the lake. With over 1000 feet of shoreline,  6 bedrooms, 3 washrooms 2 docks, a stone terrace and best of all the floating sauna,  Algonquin Cottage Outpost was designed for families or groups of 12 – 15  who love to play in the water. Canoe into the sunrise to look for moose , fish for bass, swim , kayak sup, explore the amable du fond river.

Spring and summer are the ideal time for  seeing wildlife, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking and hiking! Guided excursions are available that explore the lakes and forests of the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. The fall color season is absolutely spectacular  with morning mists, brilliant red maple trees and wolves howling through the crisp air.

Scenic Caves Nature Adventures Eco Tours

Experience an Eco Adventure Tour through one of Canada’s six UNESCO biosphere reserves. You’ll climb high in the treetop canopy, 40 feet above the ground along a web of platform decks spun together by cables and air borne walkways, a mere 10 inches wide. The three-hour guided trek includes a 300’ forest zip line and 1,000 escarpment zip line rides. For added adrenaline-pumping excitement, view a kaleidoscope of passing panoramic scenery from the top of the escarpment to the valley below on the new half-mile Thunderbird Twin Zip Line. In the winter, cross-country ski or snowshoe through a 200 year old forest of 100 foot tall maple, beech and oak trees, rich with wildlife.
