Guided Snowshoe Excursion
December – March | $10 pp + accommodation
Immerse yourself in the winter wonderland of Wasaga Beach. Depart from the Resort and enjoy a guided snowshoeing tour along the beach and trails of Wasaga Beach. Learn about the history and sights of the area, stop for some snow play and fort building and enjoy some hot chocolate along the way. Return back to the Resort to enjoy a roasted hot dog over the camp fire. 3 hrs. 2pm – 5pm. Must be booked at least 1 week in advance.
In winter the Haliburton Highlands become a playground for snow based activities. Cross country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and ice fishing are available directly at the Resort while dog sledding, downhill skiing and snowshoeing are nearby. Ogopogo has walking access to the Twin Lakes Ski Trails, part of the Haliburton Nordic Trail network. This is a 10 km system of easy to moderate groomed classic skiing trails. Weather permitting, we also have a flooded skating rink right on the lake that is lit at night time for your added enjoyment. Prosper Pine Cottages is located on the south edge of Callander, Ontario on the shores of Callander Bay/Lake Nipissing. We are a smaller quit resort offering 4 lake front housekeeping cottages. HAILSTORM CREEK WILDLIFE VIEWING
Bring your cameras and binoculars to capture that first glimpse of a moose or beaver, because our 2 night package includes a day trip to Algonquin Park’s finest wildlife viewing area – Hailstorm Creek at Lake Opeongo. Start your day with our country-style, hearty breakfast, and then make your way to Algonquin Outfitters Opeongo Store where a water taxi will escort you, all equipment (canoes or kayaks and life jackets included) to Hailstorm Creek. Spend your day exploring the nature reserve, taking in water birds like the Heron and Loon, birds of prey, and song birds. Enjoy packed lunch on us. You are picked up by water taxi in the late afternoon and returned to the Opeongo Store to complete your day.
