Great Ontario Salmon Derby
June 29 – August 15, 2019
The Great Ontario Salmon Derby is a property of the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show and an integral member of the events produced across the country by the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows. The Derby has been running for the past 23 years across the North Shore of Lake Ontario, with 10 weigh-in stations, attracting over 22,000 participants over a 50 day period. All profits realized by the Derby are donated to projects that help the salmon fishery.

The Nakina Bass Tournament is a two-person team, fishing for two days, total combined weight, live release tournament. Bassin’ for Kids Northern Ontario, founded in 1996, is a special organization that evolved from a long running Bass Tournament. Previous years had just been a Bass Tourney like so many others, but what has made our tourney more worthwhile from 1996 on has been the simple fact that we are helping kids (along with still enjoying ourselves fishing!!!)

The Barrie Fall Fishing Festival

A catch & release perch fishing tournament.  Enjoy fishing along with the beautiful fall weather and the spectacular fall colours of Kempenfelt Bay.  Put on by the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia, the event is anticipated to be the largest of its kind on Lake Simcoe.  An estimated prize pool in excess of $50,000 is expected to attract more than 5000 anglers over the 10-day period. Grand Prizes and 100-tagged cash prize fish.  Each tagged fish is sponsored by a business – when you bring us the live-tagged fish – you win the corresponding prize for that tag.
