Glen Echo Cottages is located on the beautiful south shore of Lake Nipissing in the channel to Callander Bay. We are located a mere 3 hours north of Toronto, 15 minutes south of North Bay and just 5 minutes from the Town of Callander.

During the Spring & Fall we cater to our fishermen. Lake Nipissing offers great fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Muskie, Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass. There are over 30,000 islands and over 100,000 shoals on Georgian Bay. Each island has its own character ranging from bare rock to lush forests and the further from mainland the more rugged and barren the islands become. Join us aboard the 550-passenger Island Queen or our new 40-passenger Islander as we explore these fascinating islands which make up the UNESCO-designated Georgian Bay Biosphere Reserve. The Island Queen departs daily for two and three-hour sightseeing cruises among the islands while the smaller Islander departs daily for scenic tours to island restaurants for lunch and tours to Huckleberry Island for guided walks and of course, a swim at our very own secluded natural beach. Both boats depart and return to Parry Sound.

World Famous Henry’s Fish Restaurant Lunch Tour
Jump on board the 40-passenger Islander as the crew meander through the islands in the South Channel to Henry’s Fish Restaurant on Frying Pan Island. The boat ride through the Sans Souci area of the bay is a local favourite and a fish and chips lunch among the 30,000 Islands of is a one-of-a-kind Georgian Bay experience. Passengers will be on shore for roughly 1 hour for lunch. Price of ticket does not include lunch.
Nestled within Discovery Harbour on the shores of Georgian Bay in Penetanguishene, the King’s Wharf Theatre is flanked by majestic tall ships and the historic buildings of a 19th century British naval and military base. Lakes View is one of our 2-bedroom cottages that offers a great view of Callander Bay. With a large green space and only 60 feet from the water’s edge, enjoying great summer breezes of the water day or night is simple. Extra person – $30.
Fishing Time Cottage #3 – $195 per day
Fishing Time has 3 full bedrooms for our guests with 6 people or more. This cottage has everything for the whole family with enough space to accommodate cottagers and fishermen alike. Outside like all our cottages you will find all the things you need to enjoy your stay with us. Private fire pit, propane supplied BBQ, lounge chairs and picnic table. Hiking trails abound, and the hills of the Algonquin Highlands offer many great hiking opportunities. Our trail network and the new Beetle Lake Trail are available from the door. Algonquin Park, just 5 minutes away, has over 200 kms of trails in 21 separate systems.
Spring is a fabulous time to go hiking in Algonquin. The forest awakens with songs of the returning migrant birds and their elaborate mating rituals. Moose are in abundance and can easily be seen by the roadside eating the winter salt.
For a change of scenery, paddle up the Oxtongue River to Ragged Falls and hike to the top, a fabulous 2 hour trip. Or maybe a quiet tour of the north end of the Lake with its wet lands, beaver lodges, high rock cliffs and Speckle trout fishing. We have a wide array of canoes and kayaks for choose from.
In September the days are warm and there is a nip in the night air. Fall is a great time of year to hike in Algonquin. The leaves usually start to turn colour around the middle of September and traditionally last until Thanksgiving. Open daily, year round! Our Bog to Bottle Discovery runs every day at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm. This guided tour of the cranberry bog is followed by a tutored tasting of award-winning wine. It’s a Muskoka ‘Must-do’ and a Canadian Signature Experience. Taste wine, use our trails, or just shop our store anytime. Seasonally, there’s always something exciting happening!
Spring is Maple Syrup season, when our tour includes a detour to the sugarbush. It’s also a great time to spot wildlife on our trails. You can even download a geocaching app and try high tech treasure hunting as you search for geocaches hidden on the farm.
Summer is patio time – enjoy a glass of wine and local cheese plate on our scenic patio. Celebrate summer blueberries as our tour includes a stroll to the top of Blueberry Hill and features wine and products made from this native berry.
Autumn is Cranberry harvest! When the fall colours are at their peak, we offer wagon rides, helicopter rides, delicious food, fresh cranberries and even the chance to put on chest waders and take the cranberry plunge!
Winter means our 1.2 kilometer Ice Trail is open for skating (rentals & sharpening available). Enjoy hot mulled wine and warm up by one of the bonfires. You can also snowshoe through a Muskoka winter wonderland on our wooded trails (rentals available).
The “Muskoka Experience” always includes a cruise on the big 3 Muskoka Lakes, with their rugged & beautiful Canadian Shield vistas & gorgeous cottages. Enjoy live commentary including history & local lore. Departing from Port Carling – 7 days a week – June to October. Sunset, dinner & private/bridal cruises too!
Owned & operated by Captain Potts, who has been a licensed captain for over 30 years. Sunset Cruises is an alternative to the larger ships, and can show you Muskoka scenery accessible only by our smaller ships. We go where the large boats don’t.
