For those wishing a special treat, the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre, about a 30 minute drive from the Lodge has guided eco tours where you can see various birds of prey, amphibians & reptiles.  Here also, is where the trumpeter swan has been nurtured, as it was once on the endangered species list.

The resort features:

  • Delicious meals
  • Use of lodge’s recreation facilities including an outdoor swimming pool & whirlpool spa, sandy beach & lake swimming, waterpark featuring a 25’ water trampoline, water slide & climbing pyramid

GUIDED CANOE TRIPS

Are you intrigued by what the fur traders and Voyageurs experienced during their early expeditions? Explore the French River as they did so many years ago with our ORCKA-certified canoe guide to take you there. These trips are ideal for any level paddler with your expert guide to provide cultural and natural history information — and teach or review paddling techniques along the way. The French River is unique in that the current is not noticeable either upstream or down, and rapids can easily be avoided, viewed from the shore, or quickly portaged. The perfect venue for both beginner and experienced paddlers. Book a private trip and set your own pace and agenda in advance or as you go. All necessary gear is provided. A scrumptious gourmet picnic lunch is included on full-day trips. On half-day trips, book a Lodge lunch, picnic lunch, or 3-course dinner before or after your adventure and regale us with tales of wildlife sightings and your discoveries.

After enjoying the delicious hamper breakfast that’s delivered to your door, saunter over to the beach where your guide will meet you to embark on your French River paddling adventure.

To book, please call for availability well in advance of the day you’d like to go.

From $240 for two.
Groups of up to eight can be accommodated, please enquire about pricing.
Additional costs may be applicable if booking our water taxi for drop-offs/pick-ups and if booking lunch and/or dinner.

LUNCH & VOYAGEUR TIME

Enjoy a delicious lunch on our screened in porch overlooking the French River and then board our water taxi to enjoy an easy walk to Five Finger Rapids, one of the loveliest spots on the French River.

En route, Skipper Alex will bring alive the fascinating history of when the Voyageurs plied these waterways.

Lunch at 12:30pm, tour departs from our main dock at 1:30pm, returns at approximately 3:30pm.

To book, please call for availability or register at our Front Desk in advance of the day you’d like to go.

Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery in Winter

Come skate the one-of-a-kind ice trail at Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery (weather dependent). The 1.2 km trail loops around 12 acres of cranberries with forest on one side and cranberry beds on the other. (Skate rentals and sharpening available). Snowshoe through a Muskoka winter wonderland on our wooded trails (snowshoe rentals available). Stop by the waterfalls and warm up by the fire. Head back to the winery for hot mulled cider or wine (you can even take it out on the trails!). Come experience why we love winter!
