Algonquin Dog Sled Day Trip
Experience an authentic day of dog sledding at the northwest corner of Algonquin Park. Learn how to work with a dog team including how to hook up and harness a team of huskies. Mush your team through the scenic winter wonderland. If you love dogs, you will love this experience ! The Algonquin park dog sled day trip features a 90 minute lesson including orientation, hook up and harness followed by a 4 hour mush. Each team has two people per sled and a team of 5 to 6 huskies. The day trip runs from 9am to 3pm.
This is a classic Algonquin park winter adventure combining a 2 day Algonquin dogsled expedition and one night winter camping in a heated prospector tent. Dog sled expeditions travel with 2 per sled , six dogs per team. Don’t worry about experience as you will receive a thorough lesson and orientation before heading to the dog yard. This is an authentic winter adventure where you will be driving the sled and working with the dogs. The experience is very physical. Accommodation is shared in large prospector tents, heated by wood stove.

Get a taste of the wonderful sport of dog sledding! We have teamed up with Winterdance Dogsled Tours and/or Haliburton Forest to offer you an experience of a lifetime. If a dog sled adventure is not on your bucket list…it really should be!! You will be instructed on the basics of driving a dog team, and then introduced to your dog team of affectionate siberian huskies. Tours have 2 people per sled with clients taking turns riding and driving (if you wish). A guide is always in the lead with their dogsled team. Both tour providers provide 2 hour intro tours* or half days tours.
We will organize with the dog sledding provider and offer you a package price with cottage accommodation. Pricing between providers varies so please call us for further details.
