National Ski & Snowboard Week was established more than 20 years ago as a celebration of Canada’s favourite season for millions of Canadians.. Every year in mid-January people of all ages are encouraged to head to their local ski areas.
The Highway 400 & Highway 11 corridor is the major access route into Ontario’s snowboarding country. An array of Ontario ski vacations awaits the most avid snowboarder or the novice. For the first time snowboader wanting lessons the excitement off a Winter getaway can be as close as, just a short drive from Toronto, or a getaway to “Barrie’s Snow Belt” and the hills of Horseshoe Resort or Snow Valley Resort, just minutes from Barrie. For the more adventurous the drive to Rock Ridge Winter Park in Haliburton or Radcliffe Hills in Barry’s Bay will delight with adventure.
Ski clubs such as the High Park Ski Club in Toronto, Ontario offer special packages throughout the province, and provide transportation for the drive north into Ontario’s Snowboard Country.
