Ontario Family Ice Fishing Weekend

This year Family Fishing Weekend is February 15-17, 2020 is designated as OFFW license-free fishing days. During all other periods, most Canadian residents between the ages of 18 and 64 years must purchase an OUTDOORS card and a fishing license to legally fish in Ontario. Backyard Bird Count Family Day Weekend

The annual Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is coming up on the February 14-17, 2020. It is a long weekend celebrating Canada Heritage Day and Family Day Weekend in Ontario. The four-day event is free and is open to bird watchers of all ages and skill levels. Participants watch birds for any length of time on one or more days of the count and enter their tallies. The GBBC is a joint North American project of the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology with Canadian partner Bird Studies Canada.
