Depending on your drive, you’ll find action anywhere from 1 hour away from Toronto to 5. Our events are not limited to highways 400 and 11 either. These are just the first two highway suggestions to travel north and find adventure in Ontario.

The Ottawa Valley – Ontario’s Adventure Playground

Cradled between the Ottawa River and Algonquin Park, the Ottawa Valley is famous for its stunning outdoors and cultural and heritage riches. Known as Ontario’s Adventure Playground and Whitewater Capital of Canada, the area is surrounded by woodlands, over 900 pristine lakes, four major river systems and dozens of other clean, warm and safe whitewater rivers.

Located only 3 hours northeast of Toronto and 45 minutes west of the Nation’s Capital, the Ottawa Valley consists of a unique blend of towns, villages and municipalities. There is plenty of variety, from the urban centres to the rural areas, where beautiful artistry, seasonal agriculture and lush wilderness abound.

For a romantic getaway, family holiday, a day’s shopping, the great outdoors, or whatever you choose, let your sense of adventure guide to the Ottawa Valley.

This is it! These are them!

The list has been assembled keeping in consideration current trends and what people out there really seem to be seeking out. We’ve tried to include events and festivals that might be family focused, adult focused, or both!
